Tounge Associates (TA) is pleased to announce that Cubby Oil, with corporate offices in Wilmington, MA has acquired the oil fuel distribution and service business of Arlex Oil Corporation (Arlex), based in Lexington, MA.   The transaction closed on July 2, 2025.

Arlex started in 1940, and for three generations the family business has been delivering reliable service and building long-standing relationships in the community.  The oil business has been more than just work for the Arlex family; it has been a source of pride, connection, and purpose.

Tounge Associates served as the sole advisor to Arlex. TA completed an initial valuation of the Company, facilitated the confidential solicitation of letters of interest to prospective buyers, assisted Arlex during the deal negotiations, and coordinated the due diligence and closing process between Arlex and Cubby Oil.
